Where well-being comes first…
Mrs Griffiths is our Senior Mental Health Lead, and both Mrs Griffiths and Mrs Hiatt are trained Mental Health First Aiders. Alongside our dedicated school team, they recognise the vital role that mental health and emotional wellbeing play in the lives of our children, families, and staff.
At St Paul’s, we are committed to fostering a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where every child and adult can thrive emotionally, socially, academically, and spiritually. We believe that positive mental health is the foundation for successful learning and overall wellbeing.
We understand that life can sometimes present challenges, and there may be occasions when children and families need additional support. To help meet these needs, we:
Provide access to universal pastoral care and wellbeing support within school.
Promote resilience, emotional literacy, and self-regulation through our curriculum.
Work closely with external agencies, where appropriate, to ensure children receive the support they need.
Encourage open and honest conversations about mental health, helping to reduce stigma and build a culture of understanding, empathy, and care.
Supporting Healthy Online Habits
While the online world offers many opportunities, it can also present challenges that are difficult for children to navigate. For some, the pressure to keep up with friends, manage social expectations, or engage with online content can become overwhelming.
Recognising how your child is affected by their online experiences is the first step in supporting their wellbeing. Parents and carers can help by:
Managing the content their children access online.
Ensuring that online interactions are safe, appropriate, and positive.
Encouraging a healthy balance between screen time and other activities.
There are also a range of apps, parental controls, and privacy settings available that can help families create safer and more positive online experiences for children.
How We Can Help
At St Paul’s, there is no stigma, no judgement, and no problem too small to be supported. Through our universal offer of pastoral care and wellbeing support, we are able to identify needs early and, where appropriate, signpost children and families to specialist services and external professionals.
When you join St Paul’s, you become part of a family. We are committed to walking alongside our children and families, offering support, guidance, and care whenever it is needed. We are always here to help.
