Nurturing Connections: Exploring St. Paul’s Outdoor Spaces
As a Voluntary Controlled Primary School, St. Paul’s CofE Primary School is dedicated to providing a well-rounded educational experience that is rooted in Christian values. Our vision is to develop confident, happy citizens who can flourish in their local, global, and Christian communities, both now and in the future.
One of the ways we bring this vision to life is through our extensive outdoor spaces, which offer a wealth of opportunities for our pupils to learn, explore, and connect with nature.
Forest School and
At the heart of our outdoor spaces is our Forest School, where pupils are encouraged to engage with the natural world through hands-on activities and exploration. Under the guidance of our trained Forest School leaders, children have the chance to build dens, create art from natural materials, and develop their problem-solving and teamwork skills.
Spiritual Reflection
We have a dedicated Spirituality Area on our grounds. This peaceful space allows pupils to reflect, pray, and nurture their relationship with nature and the divine. Whether they’re tending to the plants they’ve grown or simply taking a moment to appreciate the beauty of their surroundings, our pupils are able to connect with their inner selves and the world around them.
Fostering Holistic Development in the EYFS
Our commitment to outdoor learning extends to our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) provision, where children have access to an expansive outdoor area designed to support their physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development. From climbing structures and sensory play areas to sand pits and mud kitchens, our EYFS outdoor space encourages active, hands-on exploration and learning.
By embracing the natural world, we aim to instil in our pupils a deep sense of wonder, respect, and responsibility for the environment. This aligns with our core values of kindness, trust, love, courage, respect, and friendship, which are woven throughout our curriculum and school community.
As you explore our school, we invite you to experience the magic of our outdoor spaces and witness how they contribute to the holistic development and wellbeing of our pupils. Come and see how St. Paul’s is nurturing the next generation of confident, compassionate, and environmentally-conscious citizens
