Spring Term

 Spring Sing

Many of us are fortunate to have important women in our lives who support, love and nurture us. For Mother’s Day, these important people were invited into school to enjoy an afternoon tea and listen the children. It was a lovely event, celebrating and giving thanks for the love which is shown to our children.

  Warm-up Wednesday

As part of the Young Leaders Project, our Year 3 pupils organised ‘Warm Up Wednesday’. Every Wednesday throughout January and February, the pupils made and sold hot chocolate to pupils and parents at the end of the day. Not only was this a welcomed initiative on very chilly days, it also meant that our students raised over £100 to support the homeless. They visited

a local store and bought essential items to fiull rucksacks which were then donated to ‘Doorway’, a local charity.

Police Cadets

Our Police Cadets initiative empowers our older pupils to become active, responsible citizens, embodying our values of trust and respect. Working with PSCO Norman, a eighteen of our year 5 and 6 pupils engaged with the Police Cadets Programme. They all thoroughly enjoyed learning how to use finger printing, the phonetic alphabet and note taking, The favourite activity was definitely when the police van visited the school site!

Diabetes Assembly

To raise awareness of living with diabetes, a number of our children asked if they could organise and present an informative assembly to raise awareness and foster a culture of understanding and inclusion. By educating our community about this condition, we demonstrate our commitment to kindness and respect for all.
