Right Time, Right Support – Shine like Star’s in the World

For the times when our children need a little bit more support…

Celebrating Young Carers

A Young Carer is a child who helps care for a family member, whether older or younger, due to illness, disability, mental health needs, or substance misuse. This can include offering practical help, emotional support, or taking on responsibilities beyond what would usually be expected for their age. We recognise the important role these children play at home and understand that they may sometimes need additional support during the school day.

If this applies to you or your child, please contact our Pastoral team, who will support you with the referral process. Alternatively, you can use the links on this page—please remember to let school know so that we can celebrate and support your child too.

We work in partnership with St Paul’s Church, so our Young Carers celebrate in style each half term by attending Church where they receive a warm welcome and play, learn, thrive and celebrate themselves. Our current Young Carer really look forward to this. Our staff are aware of who our young carers are we ensure pupils have the time, space, and support they need to thrive both emotionally and academically. Our Pastoral team work with our young carers, we listen to them, we support them and we truly champion them.

We have links with Warwickshire Young Carers, and Warwickshire Young Carers: Caring Together and these wonderful charities have support groups for adults and children, planned fun days out, whatsapp groups with lots of information about the different meeting places, signposting to resources for both home and school.

We believe these children are truly remarkable, and their compassion, resilience, and strength should be recognised and celebrated.
