Our DT sessions are taught through topic- based projects where pupils design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts. At St. Paul’s we follow the ‘Design, Make, Evaluate’ approach which is outlined in the National Curriculum Programmes of Study document. Through the evaluation stage of our ‘Plan, Make, Evaluate’ approach, children are encouraged to reflect upon their final products, considering how they could have altered their design or techniques to impact the overall appearance and usability of their product. Throughout this, we aim to provide opportunities for children to exercise their creativity and imagination, problem solving skills and work as part of a team.
We believe that a high-quality Design and Technology education makes an essential contribution to the creativity, culture, and well-being of the whole world.
